Melaka New Year

May took leave from work and decided to take Mum to Melaka for a day trip since Mum hasn't been back there since Dad took us as a family there.

So what to eat in Melaka for lunch? Chicken Rice Ball!!

We've tried alot of places except Chung Wah, and since we were there, quite early, we only waited for.. 10 minutes? This place is so famous, that people would lined up in the hot sun, just to eat in this place!

And it certainly did NOT dissapoint! The rice balls are soo delicious, after eating there, you wouldn't want to eat anywhere else!

The name of the restaurant.

Surprisingly, it's pretty cool in there, even with no air-conditioner. There's usually a long waiting line outside, because the restaurant is pretty small.

After lunch, we walked around Jonker Street so Mum could shop for souvenirs

Poser

After Ice Kacang, again, at the same place. It was sooo hot, we literally ran to our car and blast up the air-conditioner.. Then, we drove around Melaka so Mum could take pictures of

.. the ship

.. the sea

So, Mum decided that she wants to eat MORE. Luckily, we came across Hing Loong. We've been wanting to try this place for a LONG time!

Turns out, they have a PJ Branch! ****!

Beef Noodle

Those who enjoy Beef Noodle, MUST eat here.

It's so hot, Mum's fanning herself with the Air-Con on

On our way back, we encountered the LARGEST banana we have ever seen! Seriously, it's HUGE!

Before we head back, the Popiah stall was open! This was recommended by a book, and we have yet to try it, so Mum decided to get some to eat on the way back.

Sooo good!

Then, it's back to KL we go!!

Genting New Year

It's been blazing hot in KL this new year, so Mun Yee suggested going up to Genting, and I thought, why not?

Thankfully, the roads heading up was clear.. but the parking up there was a nightmare. Everywhere was closed because everywhere was full! Finally, we found a parking, but it was so faaaar and we had to climb our way up!

The staaaairs!

Mun Yee on the phone, can still pose!

Posing outside

The minute we reached the top, we immediately started hunting for food, we were soo hungry. I felt like Wan Tan Mee, so I suggested Shanghai 10. Bad move I'm afraid..

Mun Yee took this -.-

My soup noodle (very bland)

Mun Yee's Fried Rice

After our bland lunch, we headed to Starbucks to relax and chat about old times.

Hot chocolate and Caramel Macchiato. Yums.

Someone was smoking behind Mun Yee. Hehe

After a couple of hours, it started raining heavily, which resulted in a very heavy mist just as we were thinking of heading back down to KL..

Unfortunately, it wasn't that cold up there..

A couple of posers

So after walking and taking pictures, it was dinner time!

I dunno why, but I suddenly had strong cravings for Wan Tan Mee. Can you believe this is RM14?? But, it was yummy!

Mun Yee is taking odd shots of me..

After dinner, it's taking pictures time!

Yay, nice pic!

After spending nearly the whole day there, we decided to brave the mist and head down. Phew! My first time driving up and down Genting. Yay, Yin rocks!

Tis' the Season of Chinese New Year

We usually celebrate CNY every year in Genting to avoid the heat wave back in KL, but this year we decided to just stay back in KL and eat popo's authentic chinese food, which is soo good!

So we headed to 2nd uncle's house, where mum wanted to help popo with the cooking.

Popo ordering Mum what to do.

This is why I absolutely love Chinese New Year. Sharks Fin!!!

While we were in the kitchen, the dog was hanging around too. Cuteness!

I'm not too happy with the hot weather..

The liquor uncle has around the house. Ahhh, the Chinese New Year spirit!

On the 8th day of New Year, we had dinner at Sam Yau. The food there is scrumptious!

While waiting for the food, we decided to fool around with the cam
