Amsterdam

Next day we are off to Amsterdam! Another 2 hours ride on the train.

Right after we left the Amsterdam Central Station, as we were crossing the road, May was almost ran down by a tram. LOL, that will teach us for not looking left.. and right.

We went straight to the tourist information centre to get a free map and to get tickets to Keukenhof Gardens. They refuse to give us a free map, so we set off on our own to find our own hotel. (That took about 20-30 minutes)

After we dropped off our luggages at the hotel, we headed straight for thr Royal Palace since it's the closest to our hotel.

Of all our luck, on the day we arrived, the outside is under renovation so we couldn't take a nice shot, so we bought our tickets and went inside.

Thank god for hearing guides so we could understand our way through the palace.

After the self tour in the Palace, we headed out and notice a Madam Tussauds, Amsterdam!

Later, we walked to Anne Frank's House. For those who don't know who Anne Frank is, she's one of the most renowned and most discussed Jewish victims of the Holocaust.

We went there and saw the long long queue, and decided to come back another day instead (which we never did)

Cafe's. People here just love the sun.. And noticed the bikes? 60% of population here get around the city on bikes.

The 17th Century canals of Amsterdam were added to the UNESCO World Heritage Site.

And a must see spot, Red light district! I say, the girls here are super hot! Oh by the way, do you know weeds are legal in Amsterdam? I noticed a "selection" in the convenience store. Fu yoh!

The next day, we set off for Keukenhof, the world's largest flower garden. The garden is close to the Airport, so first we needed to take a train to the Airport, and then a shuttle to the garden.

It was Mum's heaven on earth.

Later that evening, after Mum had her fill of her flower madness, we headed back to the hotel, sunburned and really tired. I was thinking more of how to get Mum's luggage down the spiral dizziness of the staircase.

Amsterdam hotel staircase are so narrow and steep I get dizzy just by looking up. Apparently, all structures in Amsterdam are narrow because the government tax them based on how wide your house was.

So they have this hook thing at every structure to pull things up like tables or beds through the windows because the stairs are too narrow to bring them through.

Next day and last stop, Paris!

Bruges

After an hour train ride from Brussels, we checked into our hotel and immediately went sight seeing. Didn't realise Brugge is a UNESCO World Heritage Site too. It's sometimes referred to as the "Venice of the North"

Brugge is a quiet little town, pretty pathways, not a good place to be dragging your suitcasses..

The season is spring, but it's SO HOT! Good thing I brought summer clothes but regretting bringing winter jacket. Thanks mum!

After checking into the hotel, we went sightseeing, first stop the Markt, Market Square.

Later, we took a canal cruise around the city. It would be a great ride if it wasn't so HOT! It feels like summer has arrive early. Below are pictures taken during the ride.

Walking around, we found a sweet shop. They have literally all kinds of sweets here, but what is with the weird looking girl in front of all the packages?

Room is so pretty! And the best customer service ever! We told the lady that we couldn't make it for breakfast and she said she would pack us a picnic to snack on the train. WOW!
