Krabi Day 3

3rd day, we decided to just walk around Ao Nang beach. May really really wanted to walk around Ao Nang beach because she read that it's reaaally nice. So fine, once again we stoped at the food stands again this time, at a different stall, Sara foodstall. Heard alot of great reviews for this stall

Pad Thai. Soooo gooood

Finally, Ao Nang beach

Looks pretty normal to me..

When holiday-ing in Thailand, 1st, eat their Thai cuisine, 2nd.. Pork Burger in McDonald!!

We came across McDonald, and we immediately went in to get a Pork Burger. Yuuum!

Pork Burger

Spicy Wings

As we leftMcDonald, May suddenly shouted "AREE BA BAA!! I can't believe I forgot about that place!!! LET'S GOOO!"

Okay... we are suppose to leave for the night market in 2 hours, but.. okay!

Menu was cute with the level of spiciness

Deep Fried Fish with salt and pepper. Yummy yummy fresh!

Mushrooms. I LOVE this!

and Mango and sticky rice.. Diabetic goodness..

May trying to look cute

When we reach our hotel, we decided to just borrow some DVD's and watch after the night market. The night market was SUCH a dissapointment. It's worst than ss2 pasar malam. Probably only about 10-11 stalls and half are selling vegetables. WHAT THE! We're there for food!! Dah la, it was raining so heavily!

We went back to the hotel, so horribly dissapointed that we borrowed a bunch of DVD's and drown our sorrows by eating BBQ chicken. (yum!) We wanted to sit at the lounging chairs and watch the rain, but the chairs were wet from the rain..

Tomorrow, it's back to Kuala Lumpur!

Krabi Day 2

We were blessed with such a beautiful day! Sunny, sunny day! We were worried about rain because of the rainy season. So, the van was suppose to pick us up at 8.30am so we headed up to the restaurant to grab our complimentary breakfast. Streaky bacons galore!!

We took a speedboat along with few other people (mostly couples!) to Phi Phi Island. Damn, the speedboat was fast! Water spraying in our faces and not only that, bumpy too! Good thing the speedboats came with a big cooler in the middle filled with coke and bottled water. So it was a good thing May & I didn't bring our bottles of water.

Before heading to our 1st stop, we dropped by Centara Grand Beach Resort where they picked up another couple. Here, they have a floating dock. Won't it be cool to walk on it?!

Our 1st stop, Bamboo Island. Incredibly beautiful and CLEAN! Sand so soft, water so clear. It's heaven on earth! We stopped here and were given 45 minutes to just hang around.

Another angle

This is a tsunami hazard zone sign.

I'm the queen of posers

After 45 minutes, we're off!

Next, we had a glimpse of Viking Cave, where birds nest were aplenty (do you know people actually live here?!)

Our next stop, Loh Samah, the lagoon. We were very blessed for we were told that due to the high tides, our speedboat was able to enter the lagoon. Only long tail boats were able to enter when the tides are low. Awesomeness!

How tranquill!

Looking out from within the lagoon..

This would make an excellent place to scuba dive but our guide took us to another spot. This was where I had my 1st near death experience... *the horror*..

I had no prior experience scuba diving so naturally I didn't know what to expect. What I certainly didn't expect was that we would be scuba diving in the middle of the sea! Ok...laugh all you want, but I really didn't know. But how difficult can it be...I had WonderMay beside me to guide me :D Unfortunately, WonderMay decided to do her own thing and floated away while I bobbed round and round the speedboat. Imagine the shame, hearing our guide shouting overhead "Maam, can you swim? Maam, can you swim?". To avoid from drowning (by now you should realised that I cannot swim) I grabbed hard at the sides of the speedboat but the waves were really hitting me hard. Naturally, I swallowed a ton of salt water and dropped my scuba gear. I could hear our guide yelling frantically "the scuba....the sccuuuuba!" and by now, 2 of the guides were diving into the ocean in an attempt to retrieve the gear. Embarressed, I climbed back into the speedboat. It took them 5 mins to resurface with my gear..PHEW! I took the gear and started inching towards the ocean again and the guide stared wearily at me and said in disbelief "you are going again???" That was a true blue KODAK moment, hahahhaha!

After snorkelling, our next stop was the infamous Maya Beach, where Leonardo Dicaprio filmed "The Beach".

Again, crystal clear sea and soft sand.

Place was absolutely crowded with people..

..and speedboats
Next stop, Phi Phi Island for lunch. Lunch was just too ordinary, didn't even bother to take pictures. By now, the hairs on our head are so rough and tangled, sun burning hot and skin was dry like sand paper, we didn't feel like photographing at all..

Finally, a Yin and May shot together! (We were hiding under a big tree!)

Sea water was crystal clear! Proof!
Next stop, another round of snorkelling. Phew, no accidents this time.

At 4.30pm, they took us back to our hotel, we though, what better way to get rid of the salts from our body than jumping straight into the pool?!

This time, we took the bar stools underwater

Later, for dinner we took a "taxi" tuk tuk into Krabi Town to Ruen Mai. Many blogs recommends the restaurant for a great place for dinner.

Tuk tuk was going so fast, and there's no door! Scary!

Ruen Mai was awesome and a very must go when you come to Krabi. The food is very very good and the host was fantastic! The food he recommends are all excellent.

The environment is very pretty, but if you're eating at night, make sure you take the seat inside, cause there are alot of mosquitoes outside!

Fooling around until the food arrives

The juices are a must have. The pineapple especially!

Dishes we ordered.
The tuk tuk was nice enough to wait for us, and we felt so bad for making him wait for us, we sort of gobbled our food and took the same tuk tuk back to our resort. (I think he wants more business by waiting for us..) The route back was quite creepy. Our driver took routes where roads are small, no one around and there are no street lights. Can you imagine how scared we were? It was soo dark.. And we're out in open air!
Well, that was indeed an experience! It's back to the hotel for some snooze!

Krabi Day 1

So, I just finished my exams and I had 2 weeks (only!) off. I was thinking of just spending my days at home watching korean dramas when May suddenly gtalked me and asked if I wanted to go to krabi? At this point, even if I had exams, turning down a free holiday is never an option. So off we went!

Since we had to be at the airport super duper early to check in, we decided to go to Coffee Bean to have breakfast.

As you can see, we were really bored

We thought we had plenty of time to kill but soon discovered that the airline was calling our names over and over again. *the shame* It was a really quick flight, about an hour or so, the weather was surprisingly pleasant, cause we kept hearing about the weather being unbearably hot!

When we arrived at our Resort, we were speechless. It was stunning!

Front view from the reception

Our bedroom

Our sliding doors open to our very own private sunbathing deck. How awesome is that?!

Great place to just sit down, read mags and chill....

Private bar along the pool

No diving, pool's only 5 feet deep.

So, what was the 1st thing we did when we unpacked?

Watch Clueless on tv! (Haven't seen the show in AGES!)

Okay, okay, the pool was just calling out to us, we HAD to take a dip!

Decided to try mum's new camera underwater. No underwater shots here.

After playing around in the pool, we snoozed a little....ok, a lot!

May was complaining non stop about how her eyes hurt from the clorine water..

We woke up...refreshed and decided to walk around our hotel before our dinner at 7pm (dinner came with the package we took)

The beach right outside our Resort

As we got nearer to Ao Nang Beach..we came across some food stalls.

Okay, so what if dinner was to be served in half an hour, we wanted to try authentic Thai food!

May wanted coconut shake but it got lost in translation. So ... fresh coconut, it is. Quite reasonably priced. It's about 20-30 bath, so that's RM3

Pad Thai. The Pad Thai I've been tasting in KL didn't do this dish any justice, this was DAMN good! It kinda tasted like singapore fried mee hoon. Their kuey teow is really different from ours.

After eating our Pad Thai, we walked back to our hotel for dinner. (Yes, we are that greedy)
Dinner was just so so, nothing to shout about.

This rice got me worried. It's in a shape of a heart!

But their dessert, was YUMMYLICIOUS! Fried bananas with coconut ice cream. DROOL!
Of course, me and May were too stuffed to finish this. Damn!

Where we had our dinner, with an ocean view

So while May checked her emails, I took a couple of night shots to past the time

After dinner, we booked the Phi Phi Island tour package at 9.45pm at the tourist information center closeby. Then, it's back to the resort for some snooze!
